A cloud pattern with small friendly faces and cheerful sayings gives this throw a warmth that a plain blanket does not have, and it is the kind of detail that makes a sofa look lived in rather than styled. The fabric is soft to the touch and light enough to drape rather than sit stiffly, so it falls neatly over the arm of a chair or the end of a bed and stays where it is put.

Six sizes are offered, from a small 27.56 × 39.37 inch throw for a chair or a child's lap up to a 78.74 × 90.55 inch cover that will spread across a double bed, with four sizes in between for sofas and single beds. Fifteen colourways are available, from quiet neutrals such as khaki, grey and gold to brighter blues, pinks and multicoloured prints, so it can either blend into a room or become the accent in it.

It is made to be used rather than looked after: the fabric is durable, easy to clean and machine washable, so it can go through a normal cycle after a winter of daily use and come back soft. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool water with a mild detergent, avoid bleach, and dry flat or on low heat to protect the pile and the print. Keep it away from open fires, heaters and candles, and do not use it as bedding for an infant.
